The University’s online master of science (M.S.) in mathematics is designed for student pursing professional careers, including practicing high school teachers and others. The master of science (M.S.) in mathematics includes 33 credits that can be completed entirely online in three to five years of part-time study. Students who wish to pursue the degree full-time can complete the program in two years.
The program is sufficiently flexible to permit students to develop courses of study tailored to meet their individual needs and interests. Students select four required courses from a core of eight.
Then, students select electives (which could be other classes from the core) approved by their advisor. All graduate mathematics courses are offered in a synchronous online format, with classes occurring in the late afternoon and early evening. Students log into the class and are able to see, hear, and interact with their instructor and other students in the class. The online master's degree in mathematics is open to eligible students in the U.S. (including the District of Columbia and all U.S.
The program also is open to students in Canada (all provinces). The program is closed to students residing in countries other than the U.S.
And Canada except for U.S. Military and State Department personnel and their family members with APO/FPO addresses. Financial Aid & AssistanceGraduate students may be eligible for federal student loans if they are admitted into graduate degrees (or first-time teacher certification programs) and meet other eligibility requirements. Certificate programs are not eligible for financial aid. Private alternative loans can help students pay college expenses that may not be covered by federal loan programs or other financial aid.
